Service Learning Project: Genetics Training

Our team worked with Dr. Danielle Monteil, a geneticist with the US Navy Medical Center, to develop an interactive training experience for her current residents to demonstrate their knowledge of genetic syndromes and testing protocols.

Goal: Medical Residents will identify genetic testing options, choose in terms of cost and results turnaround, describe clinical markers for each of twenty-eight genetic disorders common to infants and match each disorder to its optimal genetic test if there is one.
